They're plastic,yes, but beautiful design and the handles are long enough that they don't fall into the biggest salad bowl, and light enough that they don't fall OUT of the smaller bowls. I got the same in another color at an expensive kitchen store and was delighted to see these on Amazon fantastic price. Buy extras!
