By Sharon ODAY I first tasted this spice blend in Nice, at a cafe on Blvd Victor Hugo where the carrot purée was exquisite. I asked the chef what she had used and she said, "A Canadian blend of spices that we buy in bulk."
From her description I tracked it back to Mélange du Trappeur ... from Canada ... but packaged in France by Terre Exotique. So I didn't expect it to be inexpensive. As much as I hunted on the Amazon sales page for a weight for the contents, only "Item Weight" and "Shipping Weight" were indicated ... both as 1 pound. I certainly didn't expect the contents to be 1 pound. Nor did I expect to buy a sugar-based spice mix for $13.60 (plus $5.00 shipping/handling) that weighed only 70 gr (2.5 oz).
Good stuff. But très, très cher.
